This past weekend I was at home so I was lucky enough to get to go to church with my family back home in Archbold, Ohio. It was great being back because I had not been home since mid-August. I went to Sunday school with my dad this morning and his class is going through a book called, 'No More Excuses.' They didn't really talk about the book a ton this morning but it was a really great opportunity to sit and there and soak in everything that these older men of God had to say in their discussion. I encourage you if you ever have the opportunity to be around some people who are much older than you, take advantage of that.
I am going to share with you one of the daily devotional's from 'No More Excuses.' This is the encouragement I have for you.
TRUST ME ENOUGH to let things happen without striving to predict or control them. Relax, and refresh yourself in the Light of My everlasting Love. My Love-Light never dims, yet you are often unaware of My radiant presence. When you project yourself into the future, rehearsing what you will do or say, you are seeking to be self-sufficient: to be adequate without My help. This is a subtle sin-so common that it usually slips by unnoticed.
The alternate is to live fully in the present, depending on Me each moment. Rather than fearing your inadequacy, rejoice in My abundant supply. Train your mind to seek My help continually, even when you feel competent to handle something by yourself. Don't divide your life into things you can do by yourself and things that require My help. Instead, learn to rely on Me in every situation. This discipline will enable you to enjoy your life more and to face each day confidently.
Psalm 37:3-7: Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Philippians 4:19: And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ.
I really hope that is something that you needed to hear tonight. I know that I certainly needed to hear that.
-You are loved-
I write for one reason, and that is to encourage others, give perspective, and get people excited about their faith.
