Let your eyes look straight ahead

Proverbs 4:25-27: Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or to the left; keep your foot from evil.

Why did I start with those verses this evening? The last part really stuck out to me. "Do not turn to the right or to the left; keep your foot from evil." If you are not turning from the left or to the right than what other way it there to turn? There is nowhere else to turn, it is as simple as that. Then only way to look if you aren't turning is to look straight ahead. Sounds a little funny, but makes sense. Seriously though think about that. There is so much packed into that verse. In life I am sure that most of you have goals, I know that I do. To reach those goals, there are things that I have to do. There is a process, that you have to trust in. When I set out to accomplish my goals I am going straight after it. I can't turn to the left or to the right, that is where I get distracted. There is no way that I am going to look back because that would be just foolish. In order to accomplish something that you really want you have to let your eyes look straight ahead.

That is how wisdom is. If you are the person that desires wisdom, than you must fix your gaze directly before you.

Reading through Proverbs has me feeling all sorts of ways. There are some amazing things in this book. Did you know that if you keep God's commands in your heart, that they will prolong your life for many years and bring you peace and prosperity?  (Proverbs 3:1-2)

Did you know that if you never ever let love and faithfulness leave you that you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man? Doesn't that motivate you to love others and be faithful?! (Proverbs 3:3-4)

Oh heres another one, I am sure you have heard this before too. Did yo know that if you trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding and submit to him in all your ways that he will make your path straight?! (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Here is another one that just blows my mind. Did you know that if you fear the Lord and shun evil that it will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones? If that's what you have to do for good health than I am right there doing it with everything that I have to give. (Proverbs 3:7-8)

Proverbs 3:13-18: Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. (Mic drop)

Do not let wisdom and understanding get out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you. (Proverbs 3:21)

Friends, let you eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil. Keep on looking straight ahead and wisdom will be there. I hope that this post really encouraged you tonight in some type of way. I hope that you take away just as much as I did, if not more. I pray that the Holy Spirit does that for you!

~ you are loved ~

it's okay to not understand

I believe that one of the things that hold people back from having a relationship with Christ is the feeling that they for some reason think...
