Relentless

Being relentless in the way you do things causes you to go from good to great to unstoppable.

I want to touch base on the idea of being relentless as you wrap up the year 2017. Relentless is a book written by Tim Glover and it is one of the best books I have ever read. Relentless challenged me to dig deep and reach a whole new level of mental toughness. I would love to get into a lot of detail but I just want plant the idea of being relentless in your mind. I hope that the idea of being relentless transforms your mindset as you enter 2018.

The following is a section from the book:

"Relentless is about never being satisfied, always driving to be the best, and then getting even better. It's about finding the gear that gets you to the next level...even when the next level doesn't exist. It's about facing your fears, getting rid of the poisons that guarantee you will fail. Being feared and respected for your mental strength and toughness, not just your physical abilities. Whatever is in your class, empty it right now, and let me refill it from scratch. Forget what you thought, what you believed, whatever opinions you have...we start over right now. Empty glass. Those last few drops are mental barriers that will prevent you from being better."

If you know me very fairly well you know that I have the word 'Relentless' tattooed on my chest in Greek. I got it because being relentless is something that I have tried to be in every part of my life. I hope that when people see it for the first time and ask me that I can share about the things I have worked so hard for in my life. I am not posting this to talk to you about my work ethic. I am sharing what it means to be relentless because I genuinely care about everyone and would love to see you all to put it to the test so that you can achieve your goals. Not just achieve them but to go above and beyond what you think is even possible. I encourage you to never be satisfied. That's a little weird to say, but I mean it. It is something that has always worked for me. I have always been hard on myself and I always think that I can do better. No matter what it is. I can think of the best basketball games I ever played and there are still so many things that I know that I could have done better. Not being satisfied fuels me to work extra hard in everything I do. I am curious, have you ever found that gear that you didn't know you had? I bet you have once or twice. Finding that extra gear is what turns you from good to great to unstoppable. Put in that extra work, work when others sleep, read when others play video games, do what you know other people aren't doing. Be crazy in what you do! You won't regret it, I promise. So what, you might become exhausted, but that's what makes you unstoppable. That is what leads you to success in all areas of life. You have to be mentally tough to do all of those things. Being mentally tough is what makes you unstoppable. When you can add mental toughness to your physical talents, musical talents, whatever it may be, you put your self on a whole other level. Lastly, as the year winds down, I encourage you to empty your glass. Refill it to start this new year. Empty it completely. Get rid of all any drops that might still be in there.

I hope that this post encourages you to be relentless in all that you do and you will go from good to great to unstoppable.

it's okay to not understand

I believe that one of the things that hold people back from having a relationship with Christ is the feeling that they for some reason think...
