I have never reposted a blog post before. Out of the nearly 200 I have never done that until today.
I am reposting this because it was something that I really needed to hear today. Today was one of those days where it seemed like lots of things just didn't go my way, which is fine. I know that trials are put in my life so that I trust God and to strengthen my relationship with Him. I have to be honest with you, sometimes...even believing that fact and living by it...it's tough to do. The battle of the mind is so tough.
I just got overly anxious about a lot of things today. School is extra busy this week, we started open gyms and team lifts this week and it's that point in time where I am pretty sure everyone is ready for some sunshine and some warm weather.
I think the main reason that I was stressed out today because I was thinking about the summer and what I will do with my life after school. I don't like thinking about being done with school yet because I don't really feel that old. It's stressful to because I really do not know what I want to do yet.
As I was laying in bed this afternoon because I really needed some time just to lay there and relax I was looking at the bed above me and there was the "Trust Me Enough," devotional that I put between the bed springs back in October. The single sheet of paper and what was written on it meant so much to me that I knew that I had to put it somewhere because I know that there would come a point in time when I really needed it.
Today was that day. I so desperately needed to be remind to trust God and his plan for me. My life is His and it is in his hands. It's so easy to think that we are in charge of everything. I got caught up in thinking that my future plans were going to be all me. Don't get me wrong, I know that I have work to do... and have the freedom to make decisions. I just needed to be reminded that everything is in God's hands.
I am going to share with you one of the daily devotional's from 'No More Excuses.' This is the encouragement I have for you.
TRUST ME ENOUGH to let things happen without striving to predict or control them. Relax, and refresh yourself in the Light of My everlasting Love. My Love-Light never dims, yet you are often unaware of My radiant presence. When you project yourself into the future, rehearsing what you will do or say, you are seeking to be self-sufficient: to be adequate without My help. This is a subtle sin-so common that it usually slips by unnoticed.
The alternate is to live fully in the present, depending on Me each moment. Rather than fearing your inadequacy, rejoice in My abundant supply. Train your mind to seek My help continually, even when you feel competent to handle something by yourself. Don't divide your life into things you can do by yourself and things that require My help. Instead, learn to rely on Me in every situation. This discipline will enable you to enjoy your life more and to face each day confidently.
Psalm 37:3-7: Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Philippians 4:19: And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ.
I encourage you that if you have a favorite verse or quote, write it down and put it somewhere. You never know when you might come across it.
I write for one reason, and that is to encourage others, give perspective, and get people excited about their faith.
