Do you ever wonder what you are supposed to teach people? Or like what should guys teach to other guys and girls teach to girls? I know that I wonder that sometimes. I know that I can encourage whoever, but sometimes there are only things that I want to encourage guys with. On the other hand, maybe there are things that girls only want to encourage girls with. Maybe you are that way as well.
After reading some scripture tonight in Titus 2, I think I found a decent answer in regards to what I was talking about above.
Men
Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. (Titus 2:2)
Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching shoe integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. (Titus 2:6-8)
Women
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands so that no one will malign the word of God. (Titus 2:3-5)
Lucky, as men and women of God, we serve a God who gives us grace and offers salvation to all people.
What God teaches
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager do to what is good. (Titus 2:11-15)
One thing that is important to understand that we as humans, don't have the power to change hearts, only the Holy Spirit has the power to actually do that.
I write for one reason, and that is to encourage others, give perspective, and get people excited about their faith.
