Partial Judgement pt.1

This is part 1 of 2 post that I will be completely both today and tomorrow. The partial judgment sounds so intense that it works better to actually separate the two posts. Also, it works perfectly because a new chapter begins for the other three trumpets that are going to be sounded.

I learned today that the seven trumpets are actually the trumpet judgments. Before today I did not know that these two things were related.

In the book of Revelation there are seven seals that are written about. The seven seals are the seven trumpet judgments. The trumpet judgments are only partial. God's final and complete judgment has not yet come.

There are three purposes of the trumpet blasts.

1. to warn that judgment is certain

2. to call the forces of good and evil into battle

3. to announce the return of the King, the Messiah

All of these warnings urge us to make sure that our faith is firmly fixed on Christ.

Something that I want you to realize before you read about the first four trumpet blasts is that each blasts destroys one-third of the earth. They only destroy one-third because this is only the partial judgment from God. His full wrath is yet to be unleashed.

There are four angels that blast their trumpets in Revelation chapter 8.

1. The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. (Revelation 8:7)

Because of one angel's trumpet sound, a third of the earth was burned up and the trees were burned up and all the green grass was burned up. Think about what God's full wrath will be like...

2. The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, and a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. (Revelation 8:8-9)

This is like some Marvel or DC movie stuff right here. A mountain that was on fire was thrown into the sea. I can't even image what that must have looked like. Then a third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. Think about what God's full wrath will be like...

3. The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a third star, blazing like a torch, feel from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water-the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that has become bitter. (Revelation 8:10-11)

If you have read any of my posts in the past I actually wrote an entire post about Wormwood a couple of months ago. Wormwood was a planet with a very bitter taste, and it stands for the bitterness of God's judgment. An entire planet fell from the sky and caused a third of all the waters to become bitter and many people died because of that. Remember this, 71 percent of the earth's surface is covered in water. Think about what God's full wrath will be like...

4. The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the starts, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night. (Revelation 8:12)

This is wild to me. Imagine how dark things must have gotten when one-third of all things that cause natural light were destroyed. Think about the feeling you get when you're just chilling at home, watching some TV and then the power goes out unexpectedly. It's scary. Imagine what the people of the earth must have felt like when one-third of the sun, moon, and stars were struck. Think about what God's full wrath will be like...

As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels! (Revelation 8:13)

Crazy picture right there This picture is a strong, powerful bird flying over all the earth, warning of the terror yet to come. While both believers and unbelievers experience the terror described, the "inhabitants of the earth" are the unbelievers who will meet spiritual harm through the next three trumpet judgments. God has granted believers protection from spiritual harm.

Why did I share this with you today? I don't want you to have to be left to experience the full wrath of God. It sounds like everything will be on fire, covered in blood, mountains will be thrown around, water will be bitter, and there will be compete darkness.

Judgment is coming-be sure of that. Thank God for the time he has given you to turn from sin. Use the available time to work to help others turn to him.

it's okay to not understand

I believe that one of the things that hold people back from having a relationship with Christ is the feeling that they for some reason think...
