Our first allegiance

In my opinion, allegiance is one of the most powerful words out there. When I hear that word I think of loyalty, authority, and power.

Our first allegiance should always be to God.

Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant. Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” (Hebrews 7:22-24)

We must have allegiance to God because Jesus lives forever. He has a permanent priesthood. Meaning he is able to save completely.

I am not sure how many hundreds of thousands of priests there have been to walk this earth, but none have been permanent other than Jesus.  Our loyalty should always be to Jesus. No matter what advice we are given by anyone...which is difficult. There are a lot of smart people out there who give really good advice and get paid really well to do those things.

Sometimes we listen to people of this world and trust them more than we trust Jesus because we are able to physically talk to them and get answers back right away...I know that might seem like it's way easier but those people aren't going to be around forever. You aren't going to get to spend eternity with them...eternity is going to be spent with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It's kinda funny because my job is to be one too those people who really help and give advice to others. But my allegiance will always be to Jesus first. Everything that I do I intend it to be God honoring because I know that those values and the principles in the Bible are what will last forever.

The one thing I want you to take from this post is that our first allegiance should always be to God. God lasts forever and because of God we are completely saved. Only God can save you...nobody else has the power to do that. God equips us to help but we don't have that power to do so. We didn't give our lives on the cross so that we can be saved, your consolers didn't do that, neither did your advisors...so why do we trust them and give them more allegiance than Christ? I hope after reading this you give first allegiance to Christ and only Christ.

it's okay to not understand

I believe that one of the things that hold people back from having a relationship with Christ is the feeling that they for some reason think...
