Paul worked wholeheartedly for so many people...he rejoiced in his suffering and was persecuted more than we will ever be able to understand. You see...Paul had a goal in mind where he wanted to see all believers mature spiritually.
I don't suffer any persecution and I wholeheartedly write these post for you everyday. It's great to read and write for my growth, but I do it for everyone else. I don't write these post for my own personal satisfaction. I write for you. I know what it is like firsthand to have my life changed simply because I started reading my bible on a consistent basis. That is all I want for each and every person.
Coming up in a month or so I will complete my 600th post. The time I put in when I write these is for other people. It's not always easy to do either. Even tonight...I typically write in the mornings, and I had some meetings this morning so I had to wait....when I got home...I so badly wanted to do my own thing...like shower and get ready for bed...but deep down, I knew that I some work to do, and that was to encourage others.
It's honestly so amazing when you fight through that battle in your head, choose God and see what happens because of that...this post and everything I am writing is because I sat down and opened up my bible tonight..
He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. (Colossians 1:28-29)
Paul wanted to see each believer mature spiritually. Like Paul, we must work wholeheartedly like an athlete, but we should not strive in our own strength alone. We have the power of God's spirit working in us.
We can learn and grow daily, motivated by love, and not by fear or pride, knowing that God gives the energy to become mature.
Wholehearted work always comes from the strength of the Holy Spirit. If I was allowing what my own flesh wanted tonight, I would be showered, in bed, and watching a movie...WE must rely on the Holy Sprit to give us the strength to help love, encourage, and motivate other believers.
I encourage you all to rely on the Holy Spirit to do wholehearted work...I believe that deep down...we all want to do amazing things...that there is so much untapped potential inside of us...and the only way to get to is his relying on the Holy Spirit.
