We have the power to do that.
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
(Daniel 12:3)
When we are wise, and commit to God in all the ways we live, that is when we will shine brightly. Too often we try to shine brightly in ways that aren't honoring to God. Sure, you might get noticed and it might feel good, but that is only going to be temporary.
The greatest impact we could ever have on someone is when it comes to their relationship with Christ. When we can be a light and encourage others, that is when we shine brightly and others will notice.
I also want to say this, I believe that we can shine like the starts in more ways than one. I don't think we have to be standing on the street corner preaching to shine brightly. That might be what a lot of people do and that will work for them. But we can shine brightly in other ways. We can have a positive attitude. I know that's huge and it's not as common as you would think. Positivity, I believe reflects some pretty genuine fulfillment. Another way is how we love others. There is no better way to shine brightly and to be a good example than showing love towards everyone.
I hope this post encourages you all to be stars. Not so that we get noticed, but so that we lead people to righteousness.
Day 3: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for such an amazing weekend. I pray that everyone had a fulfilling weekend and that today people are all energized and ready to go back to work. Thank you for the word of God. I pray that as we go into today, we can shine brightly. There are a lot of broken people out there who need Jesus and when we start living in such a way that is honoring to God, people are going to see that and want what you have. I also pray that whoever reads this, feels a sense of fulfillment because they've prayed three days in a row. That might be the longest stretch in a while for some people and I pray that we keep it going. Thank you for loving us so much and I pray that we can continue to shine brightly in a dark world.
