Right now, I am reading the books of Job and Song of Songs in my Bible. I don't know if you have ever read through those books but they can be pretty difficult to understand. Even with the Holy Spirit doing work sometimes it is just a little hard to really take something away from two books like that. This morning I am going to share with you another little excerpt from the book Explicit Gospel. It's about the gospel in the air. If we hold to the gospel on the ground only, we commit the cardinal error of dismaying context. The content of the gospel message is not our benefit or our salvation; the context of the gospel is the supremacy of Christ and the glory of God.
So here is the part from the book:
Here, it is important for us to emphasize once more that we must present the total Gospel. There is a personal side to it; we must deal with that, and we must start with that. But we do not stop with that; there is a social side, indeed a cosmic side as well. We must present the whole plan of salvation as it is revealed in the Scriptures. We must show that the ultimate object, as the Apostle Paul puts it in Ephesians 1:10, is to head up in Christ in all things, "both which are in heaven, and which are in earth; even in Him." You are emphasizing that salvation is not merely something subjective, a nice feelings, or peace, or whatever it is they are seeking. All that is important, and is part of it; but there is something more important, namely that the whole universe is involved. We must give the people a conception of this, of the scope and the ambit and the greatness of the gospel in this all inclusive aspect.
The gospel in the air gives us this conception of the scope and the ambit and the greatness of the gospel. The Bible gives us a wider context than personal good news for personal sin requiring personal response, let's be faithful to it.
That is something short again and I hope and pray that it encourages you today.

I write for one reason, and that is to encourage others, give perspective, and get people excited about their faith.
