What do I need the most?

What do I need the most? Lot's of things might come to mind but when it comes down to it all there is one thing that I need more than anything. I like to think of this question as what is one thing that I absolutely need to do every day.

This time of year is crazy. I am sure that a lot of you can relate. Especially during finals week, sure finals week honestly isn't that hard. The toughest week was last week. What makes this week hard is that your schedules completely change. You spend an entire semester going to class at the same times everyday, and then you get to this week and sometimes it feels like everything is thrown off. I think that is what is most difficult for me. Whether it's finals week, Saturday, game day, or any other day during the week there is still that one thing that I need to do.

I know that I have mentioned it before in posts and I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I can't stress how important it is to spend some time in the Word of God. Seriously, just pick up your Bible or open up the app and read for a little bit. I promise that you will learn and will be challenged.

I really don't know what else to say. For me, posting a blog every day is normally pretty easy. I read my Bible, journal, and then ask what the Holy Spirit wants me to post about. These past couple of days have been different. Rather than learning from what I read, and then going deeper and interpreting it as a blog post, I have learned the most from simply reading my Bible. I really don't know how else to word it. I just want to encourage you with all of heart to get into the Word. I think that is one of the most difficult things for Christians. Why though? There are a lot of reasons. You open up to a book in the Old Testament and you might not be able to annunciate half the words in there. Or you open up it up and think, there is no way I am every going to read all of this. Oh! Here is a good one, the words are so small. One of the things I hear the most is that people don't know where to start. The way I look at is is where ever you do start, that is where the Spirit wants you. It may be a little boring, but trust the process. Trust what is in there, the Bible is packed with so many amazing stories. No matter what book of the Bible. My heart longs so badly for you to open it up and dive in.

If you struggle with it, don't feel bad or anything. As a Christian, I encourage you to not to worry about the the things you struggle with, rather look at all the things you do well. Our walk with Christ won't be perfect, but there are things that you can do really well. The things you don't, pray about it and keep on trying. It's all a process. The process leads to discipline which leads to a stronger and better relationship with Christ.

So what do I need to do the most? Get in the word and that is when I feel fulfillment in the midst of everything.

Attack this with all you have. Obedience is an act of love and I am sure we are called to dig into the word.

Deuteronomy 6:5: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

~ you are loved ~

it's okay to not understand

I believe that one of the things that hold people back from having a relationship with Christ is the feeling that they for some reason think...
