As I sit in Starbucks and write this post, I can't help but have my mind wonder. There are so many things to think about. This is my last time in Mishawaka for almost a month...I leave for a three and a half week, 8000 mile + trip across the country and then to the other side of the world...I will miss my family, my friends and my girlfriend so much. There are just so many things that are flowing through my mind and my thoughts.
Reading through my bible this morning, I came across a verse in two different books that both talked about how the Lord is my fortress. I knew that is what I was going to encourage you with today.
This post will be short, but I hope it's uplifting and reminds you that the Lord is your fortress.
I love you, Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:1-2)
The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
For me, I was encouraged by this because it reminded me that the name of the Lord is a fortified tower, my rock, my fortress, my deliver, the horn of my salvation and my stronghold. My Lord is so many things and everything that I need. That is what I needed to hear as I prepare for my trip. My prayer is that you needed to hear that with whatever you are going through right now.
I write for one reason, and that is to encourage others, give perspective, and get people excited about their faith.
