titanic myth

A hole in the boat is a hole in the boat.

A lot of people segment their lives and think they can live with integrity when they are harboring sin in one area of life as long as it doesn’t affect the other areas. I call this the Titanic myth. The Titanic was supposed to be the first unsinkable ship because it was the frost ship to segment and compartmentalize the hull. Theoretically, if the boat took on water in a certain area, you could batten down the hatch, and it wouldn’t sink the whole ship.

When it comes to your life, a hole in the boat is a hole in the boat, eventually it’s going to sink you. That little area you thought you had under control will eventually take you down. And, it will affect the people around you, because while sin is personal, it is never private.

We are not perfect and God doesn’t expect us to be perfect. God does expect us to have integrity. The starting point with integrity is owing up to your sins.

I know that’s deep and maybe a little heavy for a beautiful Valentine’s Day morning, but a major factor in our relationship with Christ is our integrity. Same way with whoever you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with.

Confess your sins! It’s what God wants. If you sin, just admit it because we cannot be perfect and we are not perfect, not even close. It doesn’t do any good for anyone to not confess them. A hole in the boat is a hole in the boat...

Confess your sins and will will be forgiven.
