Whatever we do, we must do with all of our heart. To me, that can fit into every aspect of our lives, not just our work. Imagine the inconsistency that would be created when we don't look at this from every aspect of our lives.
Since creation, God has given us work to do. If we could regard our work as an act of worship or service to God, such an attitude would take some of the drudgery and boredom out of it.
There are always things that need done...even when I get everything done I want to do on a daily basis, there is still more that can be done. There are things I put off for a couple days because honestly, sometimes I don't feel like doing everything.
I am sure there are a lot of people out there who puts things off...our culture almost forces us to be busy. We treat being busy as a good thing. Which I believe it is. But it's good when everything that we do is done as if working for the Lord.
Again, whatever it is we do we must do it as if working for the Lord. When I am tasked with doing something like folding laundry, cleaning the house, or pulling weeds, I must do those things and treat them the same way as when I meet with a young family and talk financial planning. I can't value one more than the other. I can't say that I work for the Lord in all that I do if I only do it in my job. We have to start becoming overly optimistic.
Meaning - we must have a good attitude about everything that we do. Even if it's something we don't want to do. When you speak positive things into existence that you are observing or experiencing, you'll start to have a better mindset.
When we start to have a better mindset about everything that we do, it will become easier to do everything for Christ.
My encouragement for you is that. I wish we could flip a switch and do everything for Christ immediately but the fact of the matter is, it all starts with our mindset.
