I know that I have. As a matter of fact I can think of only a few times where I really consistently prayed about someone or something. Only a handful of times. Honestly, that makes me sad because I know that my prayer life isn't at a place where it could be.
Paul says that we should "devote" ourselves to prayer and be "watchful" in prayer.
I've never really thought about being watchful in prayer. Too often I just watch for the outcome...not what happens in between. I mean think about going to a sporting event. You can't go to a basketball game and watch one play and know the outcome of the game. There are ups and downs, scores change, multiple periods of time, etc.
I believe that we need to start being truly watchful in our prayers. We have to start becoming more watchful so we see all that God is doing. Because I will tell you this, God answers prayers in some pretty crazy ways. I believe that even when I learn something or think about a new perspective because of how I prayed, it's a prayer answered.
God is always at work so we have to become more watchful or else we will miss some pretty important things.
Our faith shouldn't die if the answers come slowly, for the delay may be God's way of working his will in our lives.
When you all feel tired of praying, know that God is present, always listening, always answering-maybe not in ways we had hoped, but in ways that he knows that are best.
